Perhaps a dumb question... have a router, would like to share a printer across 2 comps...

Alrighty, here's my deal. I've got a linksys router that doesn't have the parallel port on it for sharing printers. That's no big deal to me. I've got my cable modem hooked into the wan port, and then two computers hooked up into ports 1 and 2.

What I'm looking to do is hook one of the computers up to the printer, and make it so that computer #2 can spool to it, while still sharing the cable connection. Is this possible? One of the comps would be running win98, the other would be running a dual-boot win2000/me. Any ideas?

It's easy, just share the printer. Right click on the printer, go to share--share as.......(give it a name--usually the printer brand or such), click the ok's and that's it as far as the printer is concerned. When you go to install the printer on the other machine, click the network install instead of local. Complete the setup and away you go.

You need to have file/printer sharing enabled to do it. Try looking in the network properties dialog in the controll pannel.

Right after I had pushed that it didn't show it as an option, I saw it under network options, duh... guess this is why I'm a comp sci major and not a networking one... hehe, anyways, thanks a whole bunch guys, it works great!!!
