Hello, I'm having some serious performence issues with games like ut2004 and half life 2, just to name a few. if you look at my specs down below, you would assume that i'd be getting at least half decent performence in games. But during gameplay with ut2004 offline my fps wont breach like 54 fps and online is even worse, my fps wont breach like 35/40 fps. Half life 2 is pretty much the same, fps is around 40 or 50 and doesnt go much higher for the rest of the game. I've checked the stability of my o/c and it's rock solid and my temps for cpu dont get above 50 C under max load. Could you please help me get at least some better performence bfore I lose my mind?!?!

1. Make sure you installed all the correct AGP/Motherboard drivers
2. Shut down fast writes, can be the cause of many difficulties
3. Reinstall Win XP totally from a fresh format
4. RMA Videocard if still getting same issue

Thats the course of action I would take.

I reinstalled Windows completely on a fresh formatted hd, and disabled fast writes and BOOM!!! My rig is performing to par with the other 3.6e based rigs. Thanks a bunch SilverTine, lets just hope it stays like this for a while....

Nice rig, what are you using to keep that prescott cool? I like the aspire cases..but you may want to consider replacing the codegen PSU..

Im using a TT PIPE101 Heatsink (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835106045 ) paired with a 90mm TT led fan. Temps for it are around 38C idle/54C MAX (Fall-Spring) and around 36C Idle/50C max (Summer, cause of AC). I am thinking of getting a new PSU this summer, cuz my volt rails look kinda weird now and then and it's just not dependable. Also, i got a question, does dual-bootting affecting your performence at all? Cuz I need one side of the comp for all my video editing, burning, and image editing, and another side just for games.

Dual booting won't affect the performance, especially if one partition won't affect the other
