Are you talking about the Audigy 4 pro or the regular Audigy 4?

I haven't seen much on the A4 except that the pro version is significantly better than the non-pro version which is comparable in quality to the A2 series.

Why would the pro be better? I looked at comparisons and I thought the only difference was the extras it came with

Pro has better DACs and possibly other differences.

So if a Auidgy 2 ZS and Audigy 4 were the same price, which one should I get for gaming?

I think overall they're pretty similar for what they can do.

The A2zs has a firewire port while the A4 doesn't afaik. I think that's the biggest hardware difference. EDIT: oh yeah, and the A4 has a remote, right?

I haven't owned either though so I don't have experience with them.
I think for gaming features and performance they're pretty much the same from what I have remember.

I have the 2ZS and I can't imagine how it could have been improved

....except to not have a 200 meg driver install

check out the latest drivers. Its less than 30 meg for the driver and their new control panel is tiny.

Cost. I'm looking to spend $45-65 used :( When I come into more monye I want to ge an X-fi Fatal1ty then pass what I get soon to my 2nd gaming PC. Anywho back to my quest of the Audigy 4 non pro vs Audigy 2 ZS. Creatives site doesn't give specs on chipset comparisons or anything of sort. All I care about is gaming too.

The Xtrememusic X-Fi was going for $75AR for a while. I haven't shopped for a used X-Fi at all, but you might want to look just in case you haven't already. There might be one in your range.
