Performance question...

Right now I have an Iwill KK266+ Raid motherboard, 384MB PC133 (3x128MB), 1.4GHz Athlon T-bird.
If I bought a new Asus A7N8X Deluxe + 512MB Corsair PC3200C2 and kept my 1.4GHz for now... would that be a noticeable increase?
Hopefully it will provide atleast a small boost while I save up to buy a new 2800+ or higher processor a couple months down the road.
I guess it wouldn't really be wasting $350... since I'll either spend it now or spend it later one way or another. 😉

I was under the impression that the older Athlons didn't utilize the extra bandwidth from DDR RAM very well.

I would personally save the $350 for now and upgrade when you save enough for the new processor as well. It's a good chance that the MB and RAM prices might be a little cheaper then too.

Agreed. I have a good feeling that RAM prices will espesially drop, as they already have.
