Well it depends primarily on the game. I have a 750Ti in my HTPC. It's a neat little thing that runs all my games flawlessly, but then I personally like playing Indie's & older (pre 2013) stuff and have lost interest in a lot of modern sequelled to death AAA franchises. As for examples "pushed to its limit", I can get Skyrim (with 2K HD texture packs + non-ENB weather/lighting mods) & The Talos Principle running constant 60fps at 1080p. All the decent "last gen" games (eg, Bioshock trilogy, DX:HR, Dishonored, Mass Effect, etc) will run 1080/60fps on or near max. For "heavier" games, turning settings down will boost frame-rates, as will using SMAA / FXAA instead of MSAA, but if you're into / planning any modern AAA gaming, you'll probably need a stronger card.

Looks like the only option is gtx 960 which can play med-high with no aaa. Can play 90% of games.

The 750 is a little slower than the 560 Ti, so you'll be able to play every game out there at 1080p with some reduced settings on some.

With 1 gig, you'll want to keep textures on "low" for most modern games. Even crappy looking games can saturate 1 gig.

The 750's processing power should be sufficient for a playable (30 FPS locked) experience with decent settings in most games, especially when overclocked.

I play with a HD7770, which is I believe a bit weaker than a 750. It struggles with newer games, but I have played every game I tried at 1080p usually medium to high, but low on really demanding titles. The only game I have been unable to get over 30FPS is witcher 3. Even played that on my second monitor 1440 x 900 and it still didnt break 30FPS. But I am not one of those who demands really high framerates, so I did finish the game.

Honestly, instead of ushering in a new age of PC gaming, I think the consoles being x86 have actually led to even more lazy porting to the PC, especially the excessive vram requirements in relation to the visual quality. But really there are no new games out that I want to play bad enough to upgrade. I played DA:I and W3 on my 7770, and despite the high system requirements, I think it will handle FO4. Otherwise, I will just stick with older games.

Have played a bit of GTA V with a 1gb gtx650 which is a good deal slower then the 750 and found for 1600x900 it worked out well enough keeping it all on low.Willing to bet the 750 would excel in that game with flying fps for 900p low,but be held back by the 1gb surely.

Maybe 900p medium in BF4,while my 650 did about 50+fps for the most part at 768p medium.

Older COD games like COD BO2 you could get well over 100fps but again be held back by the 1gb.I know i was with my 650 at even 1080p in that game.CSGO would fly on that card as well.

If you got a dual core, your experience is going to be pretty bad off unless your playing older titles

Veltix, what resolution (since that makes all the difference really in performance). I mean, right now, a GTX 980 Ti will be hard pressed for smooth gameplay at 4k with those titles...

Thanks!

Its about on par with a Radeon 7790. You could probably play some of the new titles at 1600x900 low-med settings at 20-50fps.

Mine is a GTX660/2GB and it does fine on every game I play on it. It's been years since games really stretched PC GPUs, basically because the assets have been built to work well on consoles, which have even less rendering power than an five year-old GPU.
