I can't believe they still make PCI cards! I was just curious if anybody had some performance numbers for it?? comparted to an AGP GeforceFX 5600 or an AGP Radeon 9600.... I can't find anything

The GeForce? FX 5200 and GeForce PCX 5300 GPUs deliver best-in class performance and features at a great price. With a GeForce FX or PCX mainstream GPU inside your PC, you can experience cinematic-quality effects, studio-quality color, and the industry-leading performance and rock-solid driver stability you expect from NVIDIA.

The only DirectX 9 compatible GPUs in their class, the GeForce FX 5200 and GeForce PCX 5300 models are engineered for compatibility with the latest gaming and multimedia software.
Available Mainstream Models:

* GeForce FX 5200 Ultra
* GeForce FX 5200
* GeForce FX 5500
* GeForce PCX 5300

So, the FX5500 = Crap.

All of those think seem to refer to the 5200/5300, I am curious if the 5500 is any better

No, Todd33 is right, but let me state it more generally:

Nvidia 5000 series(yes the whole line)=waste of money for any self-respecting gamer

Sorry to anyone who might own one of these cards, but it's true. I would not recommend anyone buy a 5000 series card now in any format. Better things can be bought for the same or less money. If you don't do anything video intensive, they are fine though.

Fx5500 is faster than a plain FX5200.

The FX5500 PCI is clocked at 275/400, to give you an idea. You can find PCI 5200's with 250/400 clocks.

Of course it's still saddled with the PCI bus. 😀

There are also 5700LE's and R92X0's for PCI at the Egg.
