Performance of a 7800go

What desktop card will the performance of this be comparable to?

its exactly the same as its desktop counterpart except lowered clock speed..

The 7800 Go GTX performs almost as well as the desktop variant.

I had a thread somewhere with the results, if you wanna go searching for it (I have an XPS Gen2 with a Dothan 2GHz and 1GB of RAM that the tests were run with).

What about the regular 7800go? (Non-GTX or is there no such thing?)

I was looking at the Dell E1705. There is a $299 upgrade for a 7800go. How are these for gaming?

I'm used to a Geforce 4 MX440 (best video card I've had) so I don't really care about 10 points here or there on a 3D benchmark, kinda just wanna have an idea.

Not according to Dell specs.

Compare the XPS M170 to his laptop. Same card. (perhaps not, as it's a little confusing, and Dell's not always the best at keeping their specs 100% accurate).

I'm not dead set on this laptop. I just want a powerful gaming / multi-purpose laptop.

nVIDIA website shows 2 versions. I imagine that yes, they're like the GTX and the GT, respectively (the laptop you're looking at would have the 'GT' version).

I think a better question to ask you guys would be, do you have a performance / gaming laptop that you could reccommend around $2000-2200? Looking for something to play WoW and CS:Source with everything turned up and 2x anti-aliasing, etc at a the native laptop resolution (1920x1200).

I have one of those, too. It does very well, too, I might add (it's in a P4 3.6HT with 2GB of RAM with a pair of 40GB SATA drives striped).
