Performance logging and monitoring software? (CPU, memory, etc.)

I'm looking for something that will show a nice little memory and CPU usage monitor in my taskbar and also log it over time. Something where I could see how the max amount of memory I've used in the last day and stuff like that. I want to know if I actually need more than 8GB for what I'm doing. (Right now I'd like to be able to keep a lot of stuff open (Photoshop, Excel, 20+ tabs in Chrome, and a game)) I'm just wondering if it's necessary to get more ram or not and I'd just like something nifty to see.

Anyone got something? I know such things probably exist for Linux but waddaabout Windows? 🙂

You could probably get something like this with rainmeter.

If you just want to analyze your usage over a period of time I suggest setting up a Data Collector in perfmon to collect what you want. You can get a lot of detail with this.
