Performance issues in WMC when CableCARD installed in Infinitv 4

Title pretty much explains it. I'm suffering from very poor performance in Windows Media Center whenever I have the CableCARD installed into my new Ceton Inifinitv 4. Menu response is very slow and live TV and video playback stutter badly.

A few interesting things... 1) this only occurs when the CABLECARD is installed. If I removed the CABLECARD, the performance picks back up. Videos play fine and the menus are responsive. 2) I can alzo get good performance with the cable card installed if I run in windowed mode with a smallish window (around 1/4 of the scree area).

System specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
AMD Phenom II x3 710
4GB RAM
Asus 780G mobile (Radeon 3200 integrated)
Outputting to 1920×1200 monitor over Display Port.

Verizon FIOS TV signal

I have the latest drivers for the Ceton and AMD Catalyst. Not certain on the updates to the Win 7 PC

I'm hoping someone else has seen this and can provide some insight. Thanks.

And I apologize for any spelling mistakes. I'm posting from my phone, and I never know what I'll get from the auto correct.

With no direct experience, I would:

1) try with a discrete card with the cablecard to see if the 780g can't hang
2) Try ClearQAM HD without the cablecard both with and without a discrete to see if it still stutters
3) Always rerun/refresh the Windows Experience Index after updating video drivers.

Thanks for the comment. Looks like it ended up just being lack of grunt on the part of the 3200. I picked up a Radeon 6750 and everything is running fine now. (Or at least better, I had some issues early on, but a reboot seems to have fixed it).

I never had any issues with 720p or 1080i video files running through VLC, but I guess the added overhead of the WMC interface and the CableCARD drivers tipped it over the edge.

Thanks again!
