It seems like the benchmarks for the 6600 GT will blow away the 9800 Pro. Even when I play the Sims 2 its gets sorta laggy, should I sell and buy the 6600?

if you have a 9800 pro right now, i would spend more on a card that would give you a noticeable performance increase. the 6600 might be better than the 9800 pro, but not enough to notice imo. i would save up for the 128meg 6800 or better if i were you.

btw are you sure its not your processor? sometimes that's overlooked.

Be careful -- the 6600/6800 are great in Doom, but the lead over ATI is much smaller in other games.

Your rig lists an A64 and 1 GB RAM so you should be fine there, but like SleepWalkerX says you might want to save up for at least a 6800 if not a 6800GT. Prices are slowly falling, I see Hot Deals in the $300-350 range for a GT now instead of $350-450. Wait a month and you might get a 6800GT for around $300 with Doom3.

I wouldn't . . . it's be like going to a 9800XT(+) . . . definitely "some" improvement but nothing like going to the 6800GT . . . or perhaps even the Standard 6800 (which is only ~15-25% faster than the 9800xt in most new games)

Save your money (you HAVE to WAIT anyway unless you have PCIe . . . the 6600 won't be available in AGP until November). ;)

Your system rig doesn't show in your link . . . Sims 2 should play fine on a 9800p . . . drivers? Proc? RAM?

I don't think you'll see much improvement going to a 6600GT.

Go for a 6800GT if you want to see a real improvement.
