Performance hit with Core Duo running 1GB + 512MB

I'm asking because a notebook I'm considering has 512MB soldered onto the mainboard and audio applications are very memory dependent.

Results from a 4 year old processor with a different architecture aren't particuarly relevant today. It's an AthlonXP those tests were run on.
