Performance hit when not using SLI bridge?

I'm going to be getting a second 7800GT and enjoying the SLI goodness shortly after christmas.

I modded my Ultra-D to SLI and I thought my mobo came with the SLI bridge, but I was mistaken.

I saw a review a while back that said Nvidia's newer drivers allowed SLI without the bridge but with a performance hit.

Has anyone tried their SLI without the bridge? How big is the performance hit? Anywhere I can get an SLI bridge besides buying one off someone that's not using theirs?

Ask her for a SLI bridge, should be about $18. $10 for the bridge, and $8 to ship. She responded to me very fast, aand shipped 1.5 hours after I sent payment.
