Performance difference between Core Solo and Core Duo?

I'm trying to find some sort of technical opinion and/or article regarding the performance difference between the new Core Solo and Core Duo. The reason being, the new Dell D420 ultraportable is currently only shipping with the Core Solo U1300, but its rumored to be shipping with Core Duo processors in the coming months. I'd like to buy a laptop now and take advantage of some rebates, but I'm willing to wait if the performance difference is that great.

Could someone please point me to some sort of technical opinion/review in regards to the performance difference between the two processors?
