PerfectFlat technology -- explanation?

I hear that the PerfectFlat technology is based on Mitsubishi's DiamondTron technology and if this is true, what is the difference? Do PerfectFlat monitors have the horizontal dampening lines and are the monitors truly flat? Thanks for any help! I am trying to decide between a Viewsonic G90f and an NEC FE991SB and i'm unclear on just what PerfectFlat is and if it is truly flat, or if it is like the DynaFlat monitors that Samsung has. If someone could give me an explanation on what it is (PerfectFlat), I would be very grateful .


Oh yea, you don't have to trouble yourselves with dumbing down any explanations into layman's terms...I know all the technical details of monitors .

Yes it is a marketing word, but it isn't another Trinitron or DiamondTron. I found it myself, on Tom's Hardware:

Only two manufacturers make tubes with Trinitron technology - Sony, with the FD Trinitron, and Mitsubishi, with the DiamondTron. The PerfectFlat by ViewSonic is actually an adaptation of the latter.
