Perfect Storm DDR3 2k on an Asrock X58 Extreme

I have this DDR3 kit and am a little hesitant on installing them. I've heard they raise a few different voltages beyond spec. Which ones, I don't know and I don't want to blow up or ruin anything.

I would like to stick close to JEDEC voltages (1.5v) even if it means running them well below rated speed. I can test a faster speed for OCing headroom later.

What voltages should I watch out for?

I'm not understanding.

The only voltages that are raised with any RAM are the ones you set in your BIOS or OC'ing program.

RAM doesn't raise voltages by itself......or am I misreading your question?

Well, I've seen my 1333 kit go from 1.56v @ 1066 to 1.65v @ 1333 so I thought I'd bring this up as a customer review at the egg said the vtt was raised ???

Automatically.....must be something I've never played with. All my overclocking is done in the BIOS by my own little fingers.

Ah Ha...the OCTuner must be what you're talking about but I don't see an auto mode.

I guess you'll just have to try it and find out although I don't put much stock in Newegg reviews. 🙂
