PERFECT beer

So I had a rough day at work. Too long of a day. Let's just say a venti starbucks black didn't even do the job.

Just got off work, got some gas, went to Speedway.

Walked into the walk in beer cooler. Experiment time.

Picked up a 6 pack of Killian's Irish Red, I went to the back for the stuff that is fresher.

HEAVEN.

It's the best what I would call 'lighter' tasting beers EVER. Second to Guinness Draught, which isn't exactly light.

MMmmm.

Killians is awful. It probably tastes great because it's after work beer.
I find that after work beer, no matter how bad of a brand it is, goes down like water and is basically nirvana.

I will be enjoying thoes 3 quick beers shortly.

You may be right.

Today just sucked that much.

But I do love this lager. It's sweet, bitter, and smooth at the same time... just awesome

if you like guinness and things like that you should try 1554 (brussels style black ale), by the same people that make Fat Tire. next to guinness on tap, its my favorite dark beer in a bottle

Sorry to hear you had a bad day. Wine is usually what does it for me; one sip with a little music and I forget about much of the day.

I'm not really a Killian's fan, but I agree about lighter beers. Sometimes you want something more refreshing than complex, and a beer can accomplish that nicely. I personally like to go after a Saison (e.g. Ommegang Hennepin) or a Belgian Wheat (e.g. Ommegang Witte; yeah, I love Ommegang). Simple, medium-bodied, refreshingly citrus and floral, but still enough flavor and complexity to make it interesting.
