Per seat vs Per Sever

I'm setting up a Win2k server. Whats the pros and cons to per seat or per server.

Depends on the overall size and structure of your company to the manageability/cost factor associated in the use of the licensed products/services.

Smaller companies or less use of a services/products in larger companies might see the immediate benefit of "per server" licensing due to purchasing only what they use but it needs to be restructured in the event the use of the said licensed products/services increases due to growth of the company. Someone (sys admin) needs to keep track of the licensing and the requirements so that the company is not using more than they're allowed.

Larger companies would benefit in purchasing "per seat" licensing because itreduce the need to keep track of every license use/availability, easier to manage in large invironment (for the same reason), less costly in larger environment, less limitaion on what is available to any given individual at any given moment, etc...
