corn syrup lobbyist keep the subsidies for corn/taxes on sugar high enough to make going all sugar less economic.

I'm allergic to Fructose so Corn Syrup can go to hell. Too bad Pepsi isn't making it permanent.

Tried some of it and it wasn't anything special. It can have real sugar but if the rest of the formula sucks then it won't matter.

For instance I also tried some of the Jones pure cane cola and it was terrible compared to other colas, and this is considering their other flavored pure cane sodas are amazing (some of my favorites being cherry or strawberry-lime or green apple). Getting the right cola flavor isn't easy, real sugar or not.

The Mexicans in Cancun area seem to perfect the "right" taste with their Coke.

I'm not a big fan of the throwback mountain dew, seems like it's missing something.

The throwback pepsi is very good, imo, and I think I'll be getting more cases.

Dr pepper has always been available with the original imperial sugar. This is the original, made in Texas...

http://www.dublindrpepper.com

Dublin kept the tradition of it going since the beginning. But as of now the Dr Pepper plant in Abilene makes more Dr Pepper with imperial cane sugar than Dublin does. Including ALL of the fountain form of cane sugar Dr Pepper.

Coincidentally, the Dr Pepper/Seven Up plant in Abilene is also a Pepsi plant. Its actually a Pepsi Bottling Group owned plant, one of the few Pepsi or Coke bottling plants that hasnt dropped bottling of Dr Pepper, Seven Up, Schweeps and Canada Dry. Dr Pepper relied on Pepsi and Coke Bottliers to bottle them until the Dr Pepper Snapple LLC was spun off of Cadbury.

Alot of the throwback Pepsi and Mt Dew are coming out of the Abilene plant.

I snagged 3 12-packs of Mountain Dew Throwback the other day. Had no idea they were even back out again. I was so pissed when they went away (almost without notice... to me anyway) the first time and I was not going to be unprepared a second time! :p

Throwback Mt. Dew is missing the sensation of something tearing down your throat. It's so smooth.

Dublin Dr. Pepper rocks! They even sell it in grocery stores around here, although only in the 8oz bottles. I can get 12oz cans but I'd have to drive to Dublin for those.

Areas around Abilene/West Texas have 16oz cans and 20oz plastic bottles. Around the Abilene area the cost is the same as corn syrup Dr. Pepper. Once you get outside that area there are markups similar to what everyone does to Dublin Dr Pepper. In Lubbock you used to be able to find 8packs of 16oz cans but with the markup they didnt sell well and I havent been able to find those in over a year. The 16oz cans and 20oz bottles are from the Abilene plant. They have 12oz cans as well but do not do the glass bottles Dublin does.

Hehe.

It feels like an entire flavor is missing. I compared the regular to the throwback, and the throwback tastes like a stale version of the current formula.

I dunno, it's hard to put into words :\

This is horseshit. I've checked around here, and its nowhere to be found. I did find Mt. Dew Throwback at Wal-Mart last night, but not Pepsi.

Just checked that store locator. Yeah, can't find any within 50 miles carrying it. They carried it last year, but I guess not this year. Fucking assholes. Of course I don't think it even showed up until March last year, so maybe its delayed here.

I like it, tastes like a slightly sweeter version of Coke without the acidic/bitter aftertaste.

I'd love to try the Dr. Pepper version (I drink Dr. Pepper more than anything). Oh well.

hahahaaaaahahahaaaaahahahaaaaahahahaaaaahahahaaaaahahahaaaaahahahaaaaa

Do the 20oz bottles have the classic '10, 2, and 4' look? The ones I've gotten at Buc-ee's outside Luling look that way. I think they taste much better than HFCS Dr. Pepper and have more of a cherry flavor

I like it. Seems...smoother...than "regular" Pepsi.

Tried one 18 pack at Costco a few weeks back, liked it so we bought 2 more before it was gone. I SHOULD get one of the Mountain Dew throwback too. I was a Mt.Dew-a-holic for a few years.

I Saw OJ said:
Didnt care for it the first time around.
I absolutely LOVED IT in the summer of 2009 for the first release.......

ROUND 2 in december IT WAS DISGUSTING!!!!!!! -- They changed the sugar they used to make it cheaper for themselves... STUPID IDIOTS!!!!!!! (I think they went to Cane sugar instead of the other kind (or vise versa, not sure) they used for the first release))

I havent liked it since really...........
