Well, I am about to head over to my buddy's place and fly out (6am flight) to Peoria, IL and drive a MB E350 4Matic home for oh about 1200km..

Good thing it has brand new Blizzak WS60 put on them. And that I am not driving all by myself.

Hopefully all the nasty bits of snow and ice is cleared when I am on the road :)

I have no clue what a MB E350 is, same for Blizzak WS60, but whatever. I'll assume an automatic car, and windshield wipers? (Did a Google search, it's tires!)

MB = Mercedez Benz

E-350 is the model

4Matic means AWD

Blizzak is a snow tire.

I just hope I don't get screwed by O'Hare. Apparently it's an U shape and I have to go from one end to the other. My buddy tells me it is faster to run across the space between the tips of the U.

In the snow...

At least all the ice on the trees makes it a little more scenic than it otherwise would be. It was a balmy -4F or so today with around 30 MPH winds. Stick to interstates and you should be fine. Some side roads could be a little icky.

It's an easy run from the airport to the dealer. Hop 474/Route 6 North and then Take the Allen Road exit. Hang a right onto Allen Road, go about 2 miles south and then hang a left onto Pioneer Park. Finish Line is on right hand side of the road past the Saturn and Lincoln dealers.

Let me know if you want any food suggestions.

I am getting picked up. Don't think I'll be near Peoria for food :) Most likely I'll be living on interstate food.

as long as I am not dealing with icy road I think I'll be ok.

Fuck, that was a long day. Woke up at 4am to catch 6am flight. Just got home because I did not want to speed whilst on transit permit. And that Detroit entry port was impossible to find in the dark. But at least there is no major storm or anything. Other than a small section of road that is icy and snowy, rest was clear sailing. Off to crash now.

so I woke up at 4am on the 22nd and didn't make it to bed til 23rd 3am... fucking awake 23 hours and now I an awake again. Hope to pass out soon again. Peoria's roads was very clean. In fact my whole trip was pretty much clean except a section of Michigan where we encountered black ice+snow. Many vehicle freshly ditched, I don't know how they do it. What part of winter driving did they not understand?
