I have recently switched to this ISP because I'm poor as hell. Anyway, do any of you all know how to make it so I don't have to use their goddamned software?
 
I had PPC for about 2 years. Best I found for the money but to answer your question, no.
A real pain in the butt but generally good performance.
 
Can you not use the internet connection wizard? Although you have probably tried it,You need an account name, password,phone number for your isp, if on dialup. if broadband you need, account name,password.
 
1) Cancel and close your PeoplePC dialup account.
2) Get a cheaper ISP which doesn't require installing any funky software, just a computer, modem and working phone line. If you're paying more than $8.25/mo you're paying too much.

or at least everyone i know who had it and then called in to me when they switched to our cable service had a hell of a time cleaning up their software and getting it off their comp
 
I have no problem getting rid of the software. The connection speed is pretty good for the price. Thank you Oh Mighty Deal Finder RossMAN for the link.
 
nice list rossman, too bad there isn't a way to search the cheap ISP's for one that offers static IP accounts

i am looking at a house in the country and cable/dsl isn't available, so i am headed back to dial up 🙁
