So, i just installed my Dlink wireless network card yesterday. I brought 2 cards to hook up to each of the computers. My computer in my room gave crappy POOR signals for some reason. The other computer in the living room gave pretty much excellent signals.
The signal would drop out randomly because it was so poor. maybe 1 or 2 bars on the window status screen. I did abit of reach and found some Antennas and took the jump and gave up $40 dollars. Now take a look @ my signals.
Its 100% perfect on both computers now:

its made to be hooked up to the router, but many have hooked it directly to the pci card with no problem. My network doesnt have a ROUTER, so i hooked it up to the computer with the worst signal problems and thats my main computer. It works =]
Give it a try =] Return it if it doesnt work for you.
