Man, i hate it when people take for-ever to say something

This morning......I came in, and started application X.......And it was going slow..........So i stopped it...Ended the task........And then i rebooted my PC...........And when it came back up......It said there was an error with such and such.....

blah blah blah, just spit it out man, i dont have all day. They always emphasize the last word as well. "I rebooted my PC....and when it came back UP...It said there was an ERROR."

I started the one course i am taking this fall at the community college and they passed out a survey asking us if we would be interested in a 2 year degree in Helpdesk and PC support. I wrote hell no on it, and said i would run the other way if someone offered me that.

My gripe of the day is people who think every problem with their printer can be solved by sending a tech out to "clean" the printer.

"Honestly I just think this printer needs a good cleaning, and I don't want to do it."

Yes ma'am, the communications errors you're receiving are most definitely the result of a dirty printer.

The bad thing is i dont do helpdesk work anymore. But my stuipid self said yes once upon a time when someone asked me if i knew computers.

Remember kids, always play dumb. Computer? I dont have a computer i have AOL.

Best one is after you have been through a thousand checks and got them to confirm that they are doing the correct thing 100 times, and they turn around on the last time you ask them and say "Oh, you didn't say that before!" and they do it. Voila, fixed!.

I need memory for my computer "Ok, what kind of memory do you need?" Huh? "There are different types of memory, PC100, PC133, DDR, RDRAM" I don't know, what do Dell's take? "PC100, PC133, DDR and RDRAM" Ohhhhh "Just call Dell and buy it from them"

If someone pisses me off and says they need SDRAM, I say: "What kind?" PC133 I think "Are you sure? DDR is also SDRAM, its DDR SDRAM" Oh, this is so confusing "I wouldn't buy anything unless you're positive on what you need"

Screwing around with people is awesome... 🙂

I had someone call and tell me that they needed an engineer visit.I said that i needed to determine that and had to go through some checks with him first. He was angry at this and said he'd put the phone down if I didn't send an engineer out expecting me to send one out. I turned around and said "ok, thats your decision, but I still can't send one out without doing these checks". He went quiet then said "I'm gonna put the phone down". I said "go on then, I still can't send one out", so he hung up. People are such d!cks sometimes!

I know what he's going through, but, you have to play the game. If he doesn't like it he should be complaining to the company / mgmt not the guy working the phone. But, usually you try and tell them that (in a polite way) and "Oh, I'll complain to you and you can forward it on" is usually the response. Hah.
