People who put quotes from famous people in their AIM profiles..

that has no relevance whatsoever to them and has lots of big fancy words in it..aaand was said about 700 years ago in a very archaic language that would be passed off as bad grammar today. It's like "Doth thou smart for doth put meaningless quoteth in thou profile."

For some reason it really annoys me when someone puts something like that in their profile in order to sound more intelligent than they really are, and they act like a big elitist from it.

Anyone else feel this way?

The pointless quotes bother me, too, but then again I don't have AIM anymore, so I guess it doesn't matter.

Another thing that annoys me are people who ALWAYS have a lyric as their away message...stfu and be original, PLEASE! :)

Hmm I want to vote for all 3 at the same time. Sometimes sig quotes are interesting to read, whether it's a joke, or from a famous person, although sometimes it is an effort to be eliteist.

wlel, there are some like the one by Elanore Roosevelt that says "No one can make you feel inferior without your permission" And I have seen that in quite a few. What's wrong with that? It's how they are feeling, and sometimes famous people can explain their feelings in words they can't think up themselves.

And I have strongbad quotes in my profile, he's famous... although I don' t think they are even a little bit intelligent, such as a One that is not cold, is scaresly a One at all....

I like funny things in profiles/away messages. I am far too unoriginal for this and would rather just copy+paste lyrics from TOOL to use in my profile.

Maybe the person who is using the quote idolizes the person who's quote they are using.

There is nothing wrong with having an idol, right?

Do I get to make an acceptance speech? Can I let Moonbeam write it? Would it give me the privlidge of not having to see crappy threads like this on a daily basis because one person thinks he is better than everyone else and they should all live by his rules?
