If you kick a handgun that has fallen to the floor so that an assailant can't pick it up, is there any danger of it firing?
 
There is always that risk of kinetic energy causing some internal part to release the hammer/striker but I would put those odds out to worse than being struck by lightning. Your chances go up if you have heavy shoelaces that come into contact with the trigger 😛
 
Your kick could partially pull the hammer back and it could fire.
But that's not very likely.

My answer is no.
 
Depends on the gun. Guns have been around for a long time and older models did not have internal firing pin blocks and would be much more likely to discharge from a hard impact. So I would say that in the name of safety there is always a danger of a gun firing if dropped or impacted suddenly.

No way would I say there is NO danger of this happening.

The odds of you being assaulted by a guy with a guy, disarming him and having the chance to kick his gun away are nil so I vote no.

Biggest danger is if your assailant picks it up. Where would you be struggling with the attacker that the assailant can't pick up the gun, if it is kicked?

no because i would pick it up and shoot his partner and fuck his girlfriend. while they are tied up and having to watch.

Lots of pistols these days have a firing pin block that requires actual force on the trigger itself to allow the gun to fire. So it'd have to be a gun that doesn't have this, and it'd have to be one hell of a kick.

But given that this entire situation would only happen in the movies, I'll say it'll go off... and hit a nearby vehicle causing an explosion which sends you both flying away (not burned, just flying). Then when you both regain your composure you'll realize the gun is sitting in between you two and you'll both lunge for it at the same time. The assailant will barely wrestle it away from you and point it right at your face. He'll get a big grin on his face and maybe even start laughing as he begins to pull the trigger... but right before he does he gets a foot to the face knocking him out cold. Wondering where the hell that kick came from, you look up to see none other than Danny fucking Glover... who says "I'm too old for this shit"
 
I work only a few blocks from where they're tusslin' in the video. I want to know enough to be confident to step in and kick the gun away, if neccessary.
