Is it possible to recover "deleted" data from smartmedia? I was thinking that even if its "deleted" that unless the segment of memory was written over; it would still retain the information.

the reason why i ask is a friend was looking at pictures on my camera and hit the "delete all" and deleted all my pictures 🙁 . i was thinking that it was possible to recover them.

since i know each picture was the same size; the memory segments would be even so if i were able to acess the raw data on the chip that i could parse it, etc.

the camera is a FUJIFILM MX-2900 and it is a 128mb PNY smartmedia chip if specifics are needed.

also the person took another picture afterwards; so there is now 1 picture on the chip. i'm hoping that "delete all" just flushes a memory table or something like that.

thanks mucho.

The HIGHLY TECHNICAL forum is not for troubleshooting.
