people who hit the gym

only at 85% and above. lower than that, and youre not stressing your muscles enough. It's good to strengthen your back.

Never. The only belt I ever use is a dip belt.

how much weight do you hang from it?

oh ... hi Trygve

Not much, I'm still paranoid about re-injuring my shoulder. Yesterday I was using a 40# dumbbell for dips.

I use it for other things, too: I'm about to go down and work lats and biceps and I've attached a chain and carabiner to the base of my pulldown machine, and I hook that onto the dip belt. It does a great job of keeping me in place during the exercise, especially if I'm doing, say, 250 and weigh 190.

Same here. Many (me included) believe belts actually cause more harm than good.

I also never use wrist straps. If my forearms/hands aren't strong enough to lift the weight, I have no business lifting it.

Refusing to use straps from the beginning has made this a non-issue, as I never run into the problem of not being able to hold on to what I lift.

the only thing i do wear a belt for is squatting or deadlift, and only for heavy lifting. i honestly dont think i need it a lot but use it just in case something doesnt wanna stay in there
