My current employer gives me a $400/mo car allowance. When I move up to Minneapolis and start my job 3 weeks from today, they will be paying me the IRS rate. Kinda sucks, because I was used to a set amount each month, but at least my salary will be adjusted and then I'll get milage on top. I asked them during the negotiation process, and they told me their other engineers average around $200+

my company has been going by this as well... 44.5 cents per mile

ditto. it was raised to $0.485 back in Sep or Oct.. now it's back down to $0.445
