People who don't change lanes when they know they have to turn....

This really pisses me off. What I'm talking about is at an intersection where a person knows they have to turn afterwards. There is one that I deal with every day where people refuse to get in the proper turning lane and end up cutting off 3 or more lanes of traffic because of it.

The situation is there are two right turns ones. Right after you make that turn, there are two regular lanes and then two lanes for turning left. People will stay in the right lane because it has less traffic. The reason it has less traffic is that most people need to hang a left and they get in the correct lane. When one of these idiots tries to plow across 4 lanes when I am around, I don't let them over. They can take the next turn up the road since they didn't want to wait like I did.

Pics: I would be blue, idiot would be red.

There's a traffic circle I go through frequently. At my usual entrance there are two lanes. The right lane gives you one option - get on and get right back off at road X. The left lane gives you two options - get on and go around the circle to wherever you want to go, or get on and get right back off at road X.

So it's clear, both give you the option to get on and get right back off at road X. The left (inner) lane gives you an additional option to continue around the circle.

It never fails that
1. The right lane is longer despite having fewer options
2. Someone gets in the right lane and tries to continue around the circle even though they're essentially turning left across a traffic lane.

The way it works out, because of the lane I need to get into as I continue around the circle these n00bs always try to turn right into me.

Left lane allows you to follow the four blue lines, right lane allows you to follow the red line or green line. I didn't mention the green line before for simplicity - if you wanted to go that way you wouldn't even have to go through the circle, you would have turned earlier.

Question, how long does it take to get through that light and turn left?
Do you have to wait through multiple lights?

Would it be faster to get in the right lane(less traffic), go north ~1/3 mi. and make a u-turn and then a right north of the problem intersection.

I agree with your complaint, but if these assholes are causing me to miss a light, I'd just start going around them.

If people would just work together and super-block these mother fuckers every time they did this shit the behavior would cease to exist. However, it is rewarded by people either allowing them in or even waving them in around here.

Never have to wait through a light. Its only a matter of people trying to bully their way in front/through me.

I have to admit it is kind of nice to get a little boost of passive aggressive self-satisfaction by getting about 3 inches from the car in front of you and blocking the dick moves.

Can't see the image, but is that the Somerset circle going from 206 North to 287? It took me all of two trips up that route to realize that for some bizarre reason, no one uses the left lane even though it has a path to the 287 ramp. And yes, I'm paranoid that someone from the right is going to plow into me, hasn't happened yet though.

Also, my blood pressure is usually about 1000/230 at that point from spending the last 20 miles on 206 :\

I'm usually calm, passive and pretty much Stoic...but people who do shit like this on purpose really get to me. If it was some old lady or someone who looked like they just made an oopsie...fine. I'll let them in. But these are the same idiots day in and day out. I've come pretty close to PIT'ing a couple of them.

I freaking hate circles. They are dangerous in my opinion. Stick with the normal 4 way stops already. Here is a pic near my work where 2 lanes can enter and go all the way around, and also both lanes can exit any of the 4 directions. What you get is people in the outer ring who want to go around and someone in the inner ring wanting to turn in front of you. Sucks ass.

This one is the intersection of two pretty major road and one somewhat less major road. You can see that they built an overpass so people who are staying on the biggest road don't have to go through the circle. It works reasonably well IMO for the volume of traffic it handles. There is a light that controls traffic at one of the entrance, and that essentially controls traffic on the entire circle.

Sometimes circles are used where they don't make much sense; I've actually seen one in a parking lot. A parking lot! (The Lowe's complex in Flemington, NJ)

Looking at the diagram I have the inside line and apex of the corner and am overtaking you (on first right hander). You should therefore yield to my superior racing line on the second turn as I move from far right, to the inside and then out.

People get so wound up about traffic. So you get where you're going five femtoseconds later. Who cares.

Oh, so you're one of the problems, aren't you? Five femtoseconds? Bullshit. A twenty minute drive towards Boston becomes fifty to sixty because of traffic. Therefore, work is effectively an hour longer. Now do the multiplication.

I hate when the only outlets out of a place have a combined Right + Straight lane. You will almost always get some inconsiderate bastard that sits in the R+S lane to go straight when he could've just sat in the Left + Straight lane and then moved over. Had to wait nearly 4 minutes the other day for someone that did that to me when the road I would've turned onto was mostly clear .

Happens all the freaking time.

I generally move over to the left lane if the lane is empty. Usually it's for nothing because the guy coming up in that lane will want to go straight anyway.

Cant do much since assholes that do this also cut into your lane. You can either let the retard in or crash your car and rear end/pit them. The latter will be a headache since they can simply say you were following too closely.
