Currently I walk to work most mornings - I live about 5km (3.1 dinosaur units) from work and it takes me roughly an hour. Next week I'm moving into our new place which is about 11km (6.8 dinosaurs) from work, which is too far to walk.

As such I'll be dusting off my bicycle and having a go at cycling that distance each morning. There's a couple of epic hills in the way, and it's effing cold at the moment, but I guess I'll get over it. I guess it will still take me about an hour to get to work, though will have to do a "test run" this weekend.

How far do you cyclists go to work each day?

Imagine how much harder it would be to cycle to work every morning if I came over and punched you in the face after 2.61 dinosaur units.

I'm guessing the depression of living your pathetic life makes just getting out of bed hard enough.

Well I do have a hard time getting out of bed, but it's not because I'm depressed, it's because I have to navigate my way around all of the cheating girlfriends and wives I hooked up with. See it's not enough for me to just get a girl, I like to steal them from lesser men, like yourself. I do it because it's fun. Fun like punching you in the face after 2.61 dinosaur units.

I would never ride my bike 6.8 dinosaur units to work unless I work at a gym.

P.s. I ride my bike to school two blocks (0.5 dinosaur units) away and I'm always sweaty.

I bike about 5km from the train station to my school everyday.
The Kanto plain is, well, a plain so the terrain is pretty flat.
Rain sucks, wind is worse. But, it does great things for my cardio and its a good feeling to start the day.

My bike is a "Mamachari" which is the stereotypical Japanese commuter bike, one speed with awesome utility basket and huge fenders. Gets the job done for $40. :)

I wouldn't know. See, we have this wonderful invention called the "internal combustion engine." It allows us to convert liquid fuels (bear with me here) into mechanical energy which we can harness to make self-propelled vehicles. We use these instead of sheep and other primitive forms of manual labor. You might want to look into importing such technology to your country.

I live around 11mi from work, so while possible to bike it's FAR from ideal. I think you had the best idea with the time trial run over a weekend. You can decide from that what's really doable for you.

I would easily ride 7 miles to work if I lived close enough. Right now I take my bike with me to work and I ride 7-8 miles at lunch every other day. Takes me about 28 minutes or so. I'd love to ride to work.

I live 2 blocks from work. Its a little sketchy for a female to ride a bike at night these days.
