Something that always bothered me a bit. They're all idiots. When you call:

A: You call to agree with him. Yay, jerk each other off. Good bye, what a waste of time.

B: You call to disagree. You are the stupidest to fall for it. The host's voice is 10x louder than yours and can always talk over you. He can dismiss you at whim and always gets to have last word. It's his turf.

People who call into radio stations in general are retarded. I interned at one. My favourite was the guy who told one of our veteran anchors to "fuck off" and hung up. Fortunately it was off air. Traffic callers are just as bad.

I'd personally stick with non-political shows on radio, the stupidity sometimes goes beyond normal. Stick with your local news station or something, maybe music. Personally, while i'm on the road, its music. For news, i just stick to CNN and/or my phone. Political shows in america are becoming more and more scripted to attract larger audiences. For example, look at what Glenn Beck just did...goes to show ya, it's becoming a circus.

Radio hosts are the biggest idiots on the planet. It's all shtick, none of them give a shit about politics, they just want a paycheck.

Well, and the people filtering the incoming calls also are going to allow only the morons to get on the air, since they're easier to make fools of, and thus make the host look that much more intelligent, and therefore worthy of their audience's attention. (And the advertisers' dollars.)

Media consolidation means you get the same crap across the dial. Morning morons talking about last night's TV shows pretending that these aren't just paid ads for the TV shows.

Some examples?
The length of each story has shrunken considerably. Back in the day, All Things Considered would spend an entire half hour on a single story. Now they spend about as much time on a story as commercial TV news did twenty years ago. Now TV news can't focus for more than 20 seconds and NPR more than 4-5 minutes.

People who call political talk shows listen to the show, therefore people who listen to political talk shows are retarded....
