im planning on getting a dvd burner.. and i have lot of tv episodes and just random videos i want to burn onto dvd's to backup

how hard is it to make like a menu where u can select which video to watch?

and also, what format does the video have to be in before u burn it onto dvd? like i have lots of videos in .avi divx or xvid format, woudl i have to convert those to mpeg or something before i can burn it and have it be viewable on a regular dvd player?

thanks!

Its not real hard as much as it is time consuming.
Menus are a real pain but are nice. I would recommend getting some /rw discs until you get the hang of it.
The format is a .vob typpe and are specific to dvds
