im not argueing that poverty isnt a breeding ground for a variety of social problems or that even the majority of social problems arent happening there. just that it can happen at ANY financial level.
Anything can happen to anyone, but scientists, doctors, speculators, and most all people who need to accurately predict the future to earn their living, use statistics and probability, and the poorer you are, the higher the odds are that your kids will relive the same fate.
The "it could happen to anyone, so let's throw all statistics and logic out the window" statement, which is used far too much, is foolish.
And $70k isn't even "upper middle class." Many blue collar workers make that much.
