People Search/Public Records Search

I'm filling out paperwork for a security clearance and I could really benefit from some of these public records search engines to help me track down current addresses and phone numbers.

Just wondering if there is anyplace that provides these services for free. No hidden fees, no "Buy this report for $2.99". 100% completely and entirely free.

It seems like this stupid SF-86 questionairre wants/expects me to know current and valid personal information on every last bum I've ever shaken hands with on the street for the last seven years and I'll be damned if I'm going to shell out $$$ for a PeopleSearch on every last person I have to list on this thing!! Sheesh!!..

You might have some luck finding them if they own real estate but, otherwise, you will end up paying. 'Sides, you only have to go back 7 years. The cheap way to do it is enlist in the AFI and have them do the clearance. Course, once you get out, no other intelligence agency will touch you.

zabasearch is getting me closer than I was before so at least it's better than nothing.

On the other hand.. how am I supposed to find out stuff like where my ex-wife was born. We were only together for a few years anyway and I've done everything in my power to forget that bitch!

You honestly don't know where your ex-wfe was born? I'm bad at remembering random dates and places, and I know the birthplace of a girl I dated for 2 months in college (and her roommate who I dated for 5 years). Doesn't that come up in conversation at least occasionally with someone you're as intimate with as you are with a wife?

I wouldn't put that much work into it, is this for a DoD clearance? For people to verify you've lived at different addresses? If it's a TS, they'll pick a few of them to talk to. If you don't know their current contact info, just indicate that. I don't think it's your responsibility to track people down. They'll contact you for an interview or more info if necessary.
