i just got norton firewall and i left it running for about 2 hours on my comp and had over 1100 so called attacks on my comp. The IP address seems like it is someone here at school on the network. Could it be a network admin or a program they use? also could it be a virus on the network trying to get access? there are TONS of viruses on our netowrk. Also there were a few trojans taht tried accessing my comp also. Should these be of any concern or is norton firewall over protective of my system?

Yes.

Norton should be fine. Just be careful what you download and run on your computer. And make sure your anti-virus is updated.
