People please enroll in AAA

I enrolled with Costco now regretting, to get service take forever and they deal with shady towing places. AAA costs more but gives you more benefits. thanks to AAA tolls will be rolled back in NYC, they spent money on legal fees took MTA to state supreme court

The towing companies will still take long and be pretty shady, but all in all they provide a good service for the price.

That alone is well worth it, forget the other services they provide.

TripTiks are sweet for road trips.

I don't even bother calling AAA for minor things like a flat tire, but knowing you can get a tow (even when you're in someone else's car) is very nice.

if its like emergency towing usually $85-$100, sometimes towing fee gets waived if you choose to do repairs in their shop, but they will rip you off on repairs

It's usually a base amount (usually less than $50) plus a per mile amount for every mile after 5 or something similar. I've had a tow once or twice, and insurance bites it but it's rarely more than $50. (all of these were driving my dodge granted)

AAA discounts have paid for the membership many times over for me. It's nice to not have to wave down a stranger for a jump if you need it, or get raped for a tow.
