I have spent several months trying to decide what tv to get.
I am not asking about brands...
when you go HD and when I go to look at them they are set up on HD feeds and won't let
me see what other feeds look like.
I went to Sams and they had std feeds but all their sets on display were 720p
So here is my questions
I have directv and they are adding more HD channels in sept-oct range
so I will go that.
But still there are a lot of channels that I will be watching std feed.
Upconverting dvd player.
what can I expect with std old dvd movies and std sat feed?
blocky looking or bars or stretched or ???
how much difference can people see in 720p compared to 1080p in the displays they are always kept seperate and you run back and forth and go ...look about the same.
The room this is going in will be in a corner and has a window just to the right of the set.
DLP or Plasma best for this environment?
ps this set will run about 12-16 hrs a day
My mom is an invalid and she has to have it on all the time, watching it or not
Since she sits about 6 feet from screen I was thinking about 47-50 inch too big or not.
She is watching a 32" and I wanted to keep the picture height the same so it would not looks smashed
Price under $1600 might go $1800
Any info you can give on anything will be greatly appreciated
