The place where I work provides a gym for free, but they aren't open late on weekdays and are closed on the weekends, so I'm looking for something to supplement my workouts every week. I have no room in my house to buy exercise equipment, so I'm looking for the cheapest gym membership I can find.

Anyone from Cambridge/Somerville/Arlington (MA) area know of any good deals?

are people this lazy and rely on the net this much that they can't simply pick up the phone and call their local gyms to find out how much they charge for a membership?

Check out Planet Fitness
http://www.planetfitness.com/loc.asp?s=ma

I believe they run about $15/month, and have locations all around MA. The above link leads to a listing of all MA locations. I'll probably end up joining this summer when my school gym is closed, depending on what type of facility my internship employer may offer.

actually, i did call all the gyms i could find in my area but i'm sure i've missed a bunch. for example, someone the other day pointed out college gyms might be available to the public (at a price) and flammable pointed out YMCA as another possible option.

so, if you have useful advice, please post it. otherwise, kindly stay out.

Dude I'm pretty sure $115 is for teenagers. I heard it was around $600~ a year.

I also heard that there was this place where you can workout for free. I forgot haha

what does it matter? you are bound to pay and not go anyways :D

America's favorite waste of money. Pay for gym membership just to think you are making a difference. Kinda like Hybrid cars

j/k, lots of sarcasm, etc.

Dude, get a planet fitness membership, it's the cheapest membership you can get in the northeast.

i've been considering them, but their nearest location to me - at least, according to their crappy website - is a bit further than i'd like to drive. if i can't find anything else though, I'll give them a shot.
