i just finished watching the news and saw people getting in to fights and saw a poor woman get run over to buy a damn game console.

i dont mean to offend die hard fans but man i really think there is more important things than getting into fights and running over people for a game machine.

just my opinion

One guy in CT got shot while waiting in line by some thieves who, while didn't want a PS3, thought it would be a good idea to roll up to a BestBuy store and rob the people in line of their belongings and cash. This guy, who eventually died, refused to give up anything. Not a smart idea in retrospect, the other 20 or so people in line were unharmed.

They interviewed people walking out of a local BB here on the news today. Nothing but inbred white trash hootin' and hollerin' about making $$ on eBay.

I think there is something like 30k PS3 auctions on eBay right now.

The pathetic thing is that enough ppl seem to be ponying up $2000 for a PS3 on eBay.

Hey, Pelosi! Sounds like we need a tax hike in the upper brackets!

I assuming no one will really camp out for the wii, since of the high supply and limited demand....

That is why I am going to camp out! I would only camp out for a console if I probably didn't need to :)

I saw the video of the guy getting pushed into the flagpole...

That look like it hurt pretty damn badly :(

Think of it this way. It's as if the store had boxes with 2k in cash inside, and only the first 25 gets it. People who don't have jobs, and have low income are probably going to be the ones most likely to wait in line to get it. Those are usually also ones willing to trample over other people in the process...

Anyone remember how much the ps2 sold for on ebay when it first came out?

It's not about the PS3, it's about money. Most people who are buying them are just selling them on eBay.

I wonder if people are registering and running the bids up on PS3's for the hell of it?

So in the end, who is the bigger idiot? The person trampling others to "scalp" (yes it is) a POS console, or the 'tard (yes they are) blowing $2000 so that they can tell their 'friends' ,who don't even give a *hit anyways, that they have an overpriced POS with 2 games?

So now its 24 hrs after launch and most EBay prices are around $1750. Some are as low as $1000 with 5 minutes to go.
It seems that everyone wanted to be a seller on this one. Tough market when not enough people actually want to own one.

My bold prediction... by this time next week they will be available on EBay regularly for under $1000 and before Xmas will be selling for cost.

I don't know which is the bigger idiot, but I know that I feel much more hatred for the scalpers :p

Whether its for money or a game console I still think it is quite sad. BTW I think it is for money but i thought that was obvious perhaps i was wrong. I do want to make money but not at the expense of dishonesty or violence. When my kids get older and want a game machine and they are willing to camp out for it for money or for the sheer sake of owning it then i think i might have raised them wrong.

of course there has been other incidences such as this. For example, i remeber kids getting shot over Air Jordans. its tough to keep kids straight or instill better values.
