I've brought each of my two kids to the office. The four-year old's been here twice. The 9-month old's been here once. Each of the visits was <15 minutes - enough time to make the rounds to the people who give a damn.

Honestly, if I'm going to start talking about not allowing annoying things in the office, the occasional noise from random kids is pretty far from the top of my list 😉

? No daily arguing with your bill collector/bank/mother to talk about when the check will clear/when the check will clear/when the check will clear.
? No more talking about what Jessica did last night.
? No more 20-minute rants about how the guy behind the counter at the tire place treated you.
? No more stealing my coffee cup/coffee/pens/notepad/Post-Its/loupe/pantone book/ - get your own.
? No more parking in two spots. Every day. Ass.
? No more 'garage sale' emails. I don't think anyone's going to buy your Small Wonder, Season 2, on DVD.

See, I live relatively annoyance free in my little corner of the world at work, so someone invading my space with their kid is very disruptive.

Though not as bad as the coffee guy that empties the pot then doesn't make more, he really deserves to DIAF. :|

If it's not on the payroll it doesn't belong in the office. Which includes kids, spouses, mothers, fathers, grandparents and gimps.

I'm in an office of about 300 people - about 180 on this floor. We've got 3 large carafes for this that are perpetually empty - it's hard to keep it brewed fast enough.

I brought my own pot in (with the added plus of better coffee!) and one guy a couple cubes over - NOT a pal of mine... he's actually #1 on the list above ? thought it'd be ok for him to walk over and fill up his cup one day.... without asking.

DeathIAF would be too quick for him.

I swear, every time so coworker pops one out, they have to send the baby pictures to everyone.

The best Baby Show moment ever happened about 4 years ago...

My friend and co-worker at the time Paolo and I were distracted from our non-work by another co-worker Jenn showing up with her baby boy... he was laying in a stroller sleeping, and when Paolo and I walked up, he just looked down into the stroller and said, "Wow, look at the size of the melon on that thing!" (FWIW the baby did seem to have a huge head, larger than a normal baby head)...

Hilarity ensued... had to be there I guess... lol

I don't care if someone forwards me 50 megs of HQ pictures of their bundle of joy. I don't care if someone sends me a link to an online gallery. I do get fucking annoyed when my 23-year-old (dude) friend can't stop yapping about his sister's kid.

'OMG, she's so sweet. OMG, she's so cute. OMG, she grabbed my finger and her hand is so tiny. OMG! OMG! OMG!'

God almighty, man, it's your sister's kid - not yours. Grow a pair and try to act cool & nonchalant about it.

I can't imagine doing that. It shows how selfish people are for having babies. I guess I don't like the attitude of "I want a baby." It's like it's a pet, or a posession. It should be, "I think I can help create a new person who will be glad for a shot at existing," or something along those lines.

My mom didn't even take me anywhere (shopping, that sort of thing) until I was around 5 weeks old. She said she didn't know what to do if there was a diaper-related emergency, or if I'd start crying in the store - yes, some people are concerned about respect for other people. Nowadays, if your kid generates a vocalized 500 GdB sonic assault, or maybe he makes a "mess" in the store, you just pretend it didn't happen - it's ok, someone will eventually clean it up. I saw it firsthand working retail. Kid wet his pants, big puddle on the floor, and just stood there looking down at it. His mom saw what had happened, and just quick pulled him away from it, and just continued browsing in the same aisle.

If these other people want to see kids, fine - go volunteer at a daycare center.

It's more like, "Oh, it's a baby. It looks very much like every other baby I've ever seen. Whaddaya know."

Babies and children are germ bags, keep them away from the office.

I earned a black look from one of my managers when he was talking about his kids. I said that I had cats which were a lot like kids, but cute.

I do pretty much the same thing when people want to show me pics of their babies.., "No thanks, I don't like babies, and to me, they all look about the same anyway."
Sure, some will get offended and think you're a prick, but so what...unless it's someone you have to deal with on a regular basis, and/or associate with in your free time, it shouldn't matter.

It's true, I'm usually busy neffing on AT, but I need my staff to be productive and do all the work I've delegated to them in order to get away with that; the babies disrupt them and hurts our overall productivity. 😉
