Hi

I was wondering if anyone can help me out, I have just bought a case but not sure if it can be used for an AMD system since it says 'for pentium iv & PFC' on the Power Supply Unit. But the power cable does fit in my amd mobo.

I have plugged in my Socket A mobo and xp2600 cpu etc but what worries me is the temp of them both exceeding 67 c.

thanks in advance

Yes, your case can be used for an AMD system. Or a Cyrix or a VIA. The PSU stating it is PIV compatable is simply stating it is compatible and has the little square 12 volt connector (these are also being used on many nForce2 boards).

As for your temperatures, that is likely caused by some other problem, and has nothing to do with the power supply. If you don't have fans properly configured or enough of them for example, temps will be high.

For example, I have an "P4 certified PSU" in my AMD K6-2 500MHz, and in my Pentium 3 500. They work fine.
