I have an old pentium 133, or maybe 166, i know its not mmx though. Is the motherboard capable of supporting a pentium 200mmx? I dont even know what kind the mobo is. Also if noone has no idea without more info about the motherboard is there a possibilty of damaging anything if i try to put in the 200mmx?

It would be really hard to say without knowing what kind and type of motherboard it is. Is this a prebuilt system? If so, what is the model of the system. If you do try to put a MMX processor in, you will most likly fry it because the MMX processors run at 2.8v while the standard processors run at 3.3v. Also, you need to be able to set the correct multiplier for the CPU.

It might not fit, if the 133 is the first version. The first versions fit into the socket 5, but later they swiched to socket 7 (i think, i might be wrong on that, the 133 might just be socket 5. One more thing, the MB might not support the speed of the 200, or not support the mmx (voltage, like nightowl said) I say try it, if it dont work, find a MB that supports the 200.

The Pentium MMX requires 2 voltages (Vcore and Vio), the non-MMX Pentium didn't use dual-voltage. So if you put a P-MMX in a board that doesn't support dual voltage you will likely fry the chip.

Noriaki is right. I do have a mobo which will support both a P133 and a P166mmx, but only with a "VRM" - voltage regulator module add-in card. It's an extinct rarity I believe. And you don't want it...
