Pentium M vs Celeron M power consumption

I need my next thinkpad to run cool and have the best battery life my budget will allow. So I'm trying to decide whether it is worth the extra $400 to have the Pentium M, since I can put speedstep on the lowest setting, or if the Celeron M in it's single state will perform comparably. I don't need horsepower - just running office apps on this thing.

TIA for any advice.

Celeron M is not a slow cpu, don't let the celeron name full you. A guy with a celeron M 1.3ghz on a ATI M9 64mb got 6900 3d2k1 marks. I have the same laptop but outfitted with a 1.7ghz pentium M and only got 350 more 3dmark points than him.
