Pentium M Utra Low Volt

Hello,

I want to buy a laptop with a ULV Pentium M 1.2 Ghz. I was wondering how this processor compares to others (performance wise). I cannot find a review that compares this CPU to a regular pentium M or a desktop processor. My guess would be that it would perform like a P-4 2.0, but just my guess.

What do you think?

Thanks,

How do they compare in what way? Your question is a little broad, think you could try and be a tad bit more specific?

Over all they are inteded for longer battery life, they use very low voltages, and run at lower clock speeds, to extend battery life..

Sorry, I hit the enter key by accident and it posted with the title only. I edited it to include my questions. I am interested in performance.

If you want a rough estimate I'd say at around 70% of the speed of a non-HT pentium 4 3.0GHz, about the same as a Sempron 2500+ (socket 754 1.4GHz) or like 10% faster than a Pentium III 1.2. This is just the best approximation I can give you, so I'm not absolutely certain about these numbers)

Thanks for your replies so far? Is there anybody else there who knows about the performance of ULV Pentium M's?

Thanks again,

Thanks again,

The *exact* same performance as a Pentium M of the same core and speed.
Those LVs and ULVs are just specially picked chips which can run at a certain clockspeed with less voltage to preserve/enhance battery life.

QFT

They're also meant to be a threat to the emerging Turions, which seem to hold a distinct performance advantage over the regular Dothans.
