Pentium M in this notebook???

I picked up a Toshiba S107 for about $300 today which is a STEAL! 😀 Excellent condition, and it runs great.. I wish battery life was slightly better though.. I was thinking of selling this Celeron M that is comes with and going with a Pentium M..

Will it work in this notebook???

Whats the chipset? If its 915/945 you can do the pin mod and run the Celeron in 133FSB mode, which is virtually gauranteed and a free performanace boost. Otherwise, I'd get a low end Dothan and do the same thing.

Everest doesnt have too much info related to the chipset.. What is the best way to find out if it is 915 or 945?

If it's 855 chipset, it will use DDR333, and you'll be able to use 400mhz FSB pentium-m's only. If it's 915 chipset, it will use DDR-2, and have 533mhz FSB, so you'll be able to use 400 and 533mhz FSB pentium-m's. I think the 945 chipset is only used with Yonah, but not 100% sure on that.

Well it must be a 855 chipset because it is PC 3200/2700.. Can I use ANY Pentium M that is 400 FSB??

Any 400mhz FSB pentium-m should work, Dothan, or Banias.
