Just to clarify.

P-m is a processor

Centrino is a marketing name that Intel came up with. Any manufactor who puts a intel low power consumption motherboard with a P-m CPU and a intel wifi card can call their laptop a "centrino", and get special rebates from intel (i think), for selling certain numbers of centrinos. Not to mention average joes can accociate with the terms "pentium 4" and "centrino", NOT P-m

Not quite correct. Centrino is merely a marketing term for laptops that have the Pentium M AND Intel 2200b/g wireless card; video is NOT part of the centrino classification considerations.

Exactly. I have a Mobility Radeon 9000 in my laptop ^^

But uhh not necessarily the 2200BG. The 2100 was in the first generation Banias. Just basically some Intel wireless junk makes it Centrino.

Thanks, forgot about 802.11b. Yea, the Intel wireless isn't even the best in terms of power savings either. I believe the Broadcom has it beat, plus can be used in speedbooster mode, for faster speeds. That's what happens when you give your marketing department so much time and money, to come up with a little sticker that brainwashes people into thinking they got something really special under their hood.

Man you are so right I hate those brainwashing techniques. But does anyone remember those centrino commercials were there is a couple climbing a very high mountain in Asia or somewhere and they recieve a video from their kids, and the commercial goes on to speak about accessing the internet wherever you are.
LOL a friend of mine at a local computer retail shop told me that alot of people started coming to the store and asking about the centrino laptops, and they asked hime the following," Is it true that with a centrino laptop you can have internet connection wherever you are in the world ? " Told me that he had to make some excuse to go to the back room laugh his as* off and then come back to explain how that is impossible to them.
How stupid can people come after being brainwashed by Intel.
I think this is a deleberate attempt from Intel to brainwash people with no computer background such as your/my grandparents. screw the Pentium M you can get a Turion 64-bit cpu in a laptop for almost the same cost and much better power savings. check for example the comapq presario website.

Yeah, they say "Centrino Mobile Technology" on their ads and whatnot. Pentium Mobile is the proc and while they may go hand-in-hand, they are not dependent on one another nor are they the same. Good responses, folks.
