Hi Anandtechies

I have a 733eb oem that I bought from a guy on eGay a while back.

Just wondering if overclocking is possible with the VC820 mobo that I have and the CPU. Some ppl said that overclocking the cpu is not possible because the clock multiplier is locked. And the VC820 is on autodetect of the Processor. However, on my mobo I can set the speed (450Mhz-1.06Ghz) for the CPU through BIO and it runs at that speed on the benchmark. I've ran it at 533mhz, 667mhz, 733mhz, and 800mhz fine. Haven't tried going higher. Not sure what this means? What are the markings on the standard 733 CPU?

Does it mean I have a experimental CPU or what?

If you have a Slot1 can you post the markings of it so I can compare it with mine?

Thanks yo.

Yes, you multiplier is locked.

Yes, you should be able to overclock your cpu. However, your is of the 133MHz FSB variety, therefore you will not get as MUCH out of it. For example, you would have a much better yield with a 100MHz FSB, because your mobo will definately support 100+MHz FSB setting with out trouble. But in your case, you will be running in the 133+MHz range.

Try to trade you cpu for a P3 650 (6.5x100) or a P3 (7.0x100) STRAIGHT UP! You will have much better results.
