Hello I have had this system for a few years now and want it to perform a bit better. Anyone have any tricks or tips to make this otherwise decent little system perform a bit better without sacrificing too stability. Need to squeeze a bit more juice to run the Twinhan better.

I'm looking for motherboard tips or settings to make the CPU run a bit faster.

System:

Asus P3V4X/533
Pentium III 800
385 MB PC133 Ram
ATI Radeon 7200 64MB
Twinhan 1020A Satelllite card.
XP Home SP2

Any help would be great. Thank you.

Is the CPU an 800E or an 800EB? If 800E, then make sure you have good cooling, up the FSB to 124 and up the voltage to 1.75-1.85. At this point you'll have a CPU near one GHz.

If that's not enough, you'll have to get an Upgradeware Slot-T for about $20+shipping. Then, you can use any Tualatin CPU in your board. I would recommend a 1.0A or 1.1A chip (if you can still find those) and run it overclocked on a 133MHz bus speed.

Thank you members. Going to build a new machine instead and keep this reliable system stock.
