That's a significant upgrade - especially factoring in overclocking headroom.

Yes, and without seeing her photo, it's difficult to counsel him about whether or not it would be best to put her on sheBay and get the new Conroe setup.

On the other hand, he is apparently so exhausted he can't log in to the forums. In terms of performance per watt, she may be blowing Intel out of the water.

I've got a pentium D 940 and and x1800xt, and it play most games smoothly
Even crysis on medium settings
So if you're just looking to play those games a D930 should do you fine
But if they cost the same go for the core 2, it should last longer

I couldn't agree more. Her hotness is very much a factor in weather or not her opinion matters much :D.

$104, more cache than the 2xxx series better oc than the Pent D.
9x multiplier. Its what im using at 3.25ghz. better cpumarks than a x6800 :)

A stock x6800, x6800 has more headroom than a CPU with a 9x multiplier though. =) You get what you pay for though right? :p

yes better than a "stock x6800" in some cases. But if you were to OC it to say 3.4ghz it would smash my 4300. but hey $100 vs. $1000 for what percentage performance increase?
