Nice. But it's not a 2.8GHz Dual-core Opteron, so meh.

Looks a little bogus.

For a sart CPU-z reports it as either 2.8 or 2.4 depending on the screen and the core is a Fresler.
It ain't worth $600 not now, not ever.

Edit: Although these could be issues with CPU-z

Or the "Fresler" thing could be due to horrific and readily apparently jpeg artifacts present on the screenshot.
It is odd that the SS's only show 2.4GHz and 2.8GHz, I would assume they're linked to Speedstep to reduce power consumption, but then I would expect a SS showing full speed (3.4GHz) as well, rather than just the lower frequencies.

hmm i get paid tomorrow ... lol .. or maybe not, so would this work on current intel DC compatible boards

Someone is about to be swindled out of a lot of dough. I have long learned not to pay money order on an auction over seas, and paying to someone in TW is just asking for trouble.

lol .. i would never by a Intel in its current state i was kidding, however i still get piad tomorrow 😀

yeah, its definitely the jpeg compression that changed it from P -> F, just look at the cut off on the FSB and Bus Speed. does the family/model/stepping match?

hmmmm... 30+ feedback, and selling high end items, its like playing roulette!

I wouldn;t anyway. I am already over 3.4 on my 820d, and it get its ass handed to it by a $400 Opteron OR a $322 X2 3800+. Even if it OC'ed to 4 ghz, the Opteron would still beat it, run cooler, and take a lot less power.

I think he's legit in selling these. He's been selling ES Opterons/Pentium's/and SPARC's, from his other listings. Probably works for one of the major motherboard OEM's and "snagged" a few working samples. Either way its still sneaky.

he has a few positive feedbacks from sparc processors.

and he has a lot of other ES chips. i would not doubt he is legit. I wouldn't pay $630 shipped for a p4 950 myself, (i dont have that kind of cash), but well its definitely an alternative to say buying a pentium d 840 ...

A $322 X2 3800 is a better alternative to either of those.......

well im not trying to start some amd vs. intel war, but yeah thats probably true, though you'd probably still need a 4200 or 4400 though to really be competitive with a 950.
