(and not to mention the blatant whipping it gets from the X2's, though it is significantly cheaper until you add a motherboard)

And they sure aren't $241 like was said. $310 !!!!!! With the performance difference, unless the X2's are way out of line also, they are the way to go. So when you add the motherboard also, it really makes the X2 look better and better.
I didn't catch the price difference - that changes things a bit also. It wasn't my intention to come in and "crap" on an Intel-related thread, but OTOH I'm coming from a dead-end platform (Socket A), didn't have biases one way or the other, and was about ready to grab the 820 for various reasons (including cost) until I did some more research. Now, due to the DRM and remote management security implications (which Intel is not very forthcoming about), I won't touch one at all out of principle.Originally posted by: Markfw900

This should get you up to date. 🙂Originally posted by: RichUK
I know what DRM is, but what is hardware remote management ..
Could be, but that still won't stop the Digital Rights Removal, er, Management.Originally posted by: keysplayr2003
So does this mean that all a user would have to do is disable the onboard NIC card and install a PCI NIC to disable the AMT function? It says that the AMT function depends on the new type of NIC so I'd imagine this would render it useless.
